About Dr. Tristan Shockley

Tristan Shockley, MD, is a sought after board-certified pain medicine doctor with a passion for helping men and women eradicate pain and restore their quality of life. He specializes in nonsurgical interventional pain medicine, prolotherapy, weight management, and physiatric treatments. His main office is at the CHOICE Pain & Rehabilitation Center office Dundalk, though he frequently meets with patients at their other Maryland locations in Olney, Rosedale, Hyattsville, Lanham, Pikesville, and Gaithersburg.

Equipped with the most advanced and innovative technologies, Dr. Shockley pinpoints the source of pain, makes a precise diagnosis, and treats the underlying issue with fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures. With an overarching goal to help men and women restore optimal function, Dr. Shockley dedicates much of his energy to patient education, preparing those he treats for regenerative physical therapy.

After graduating magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C., Dr. Shockley entered Howard University College of Medicine, where he completed his medical degree. Following an internship in Arizona, he received specialty training at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Shockley is committed to providing safe, effective, and comprehensive care to every patient he sees at CHOICE Pain & Rehabilitation Center.

About Dr. Obi Onyewu

Obi Onyewu, MD, FAAPMR, is a fellowship-trained and double board-certified pain medicine physician who mainly practices at the CHOICE Pain & Rehabilitation Center offices in Olney, Rosedale, Lanham and Pikesville, Maryland. He’s a perennial nominee and winner of top doctor awards, including The Becker Spine Review’s Top 150 Pain Specialists to Know and Vital’s Patient Choice and Compassionate Doctor awards.
After receiving his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Dr. Onyewu completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He followed that with a pain medicine fellowship at the Mid-Atlantic Pain Institute in Delaware.
Obi Onyewu, MD, FAAPMR

Dr. Obi — as he’s known to his patients — is dedicated to eliminating acute and chronic pain disorders with minimally invasive techniques and helping his patients with complex pain concerns return to their regular activities. With more than 16 years of experience, Dr. Obi individualizes each patient’s treatment according to their diagnosis, health history, and unique needs. He provides thorough, powerful, and conscientious care to restore both physical health and emotional and mental well-being.

About Jasmine Barksdale-Cobb

Jasmine Barksdale-Cobb is a CRNP with a passion for helping patients live with chronic pain. She has a goal to manage pain in a way that will allow patients to be more functional and allow them to do the things they enjoy. She not only encourages her patients but motivates them to live and enjoy the life they deserve, Pain-free. Her warm demeanor is known to win the trust of her patients as well as her staff. She works hard to provide the greatest care for her patients by identifying each one of her patient’s unique needs and providing treatment according to their diagnosis and health history.

About Khyanne McCutchen

Khyanne McCutchen, APRN, FNP-C, is a born native of New York and moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a young child. She’s had a long-time goal to work in the medical field. She began and ended her formal education at historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s).In 2010, she graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Sojourner Douglass College with a licensed practical nursing certification. Sojourner Douglass College was the only HBCU in Maryland that offered the LPN-BSN bridge program.In 2012, she completed the bachelor program graduating Cum Laude, earning a bachelor of science in nursing degree. In 2017, she entered the accelerated nurse practitioner program at Coppin State University. After two years, she graduated with a master’s in science of nursing, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Throughout her registered nursing career, she has worked in a variety of specialties that have molded her into well-rounded health professional. Ms. McCutchen’s first year and a half of her nursing career were spent in long-term care with a focus on skilled nursing and physical rehabilitation. In 2013, she transitioned from long-term skilled nursing to sub-acute in a hospital setting. This specialty is where she acquired skills in rehabilitation, which focused on surgical post-op, physical therapy, occupational therapy, acute and chronic disease 2 years later, in 2015, Ms. McCutchen switched specialties to emergency medicine where she remained for six years. She gained extensive training to evaluate, treat and manage emergent, acute, and chronic medical conditions to a variety of patient populations. She has also served as a preceptor for new graduates and mental health coordinator for a hospital-wide committee.
Her nurse practitioner experience includes medicated assisted treatment (MAT) and independent contracting. She now specializes in pain management and MAT and serves the community with which she is familiar. She provides quality care to patients to help them live a meaningful quality of life by managing their pain with a non-invasive approach.
